I will be going to Paris for the first time this coming October (meeting conference). I will be staying near to Gare du Nord train station. Fyi, i will be having 1/2 day availability during my 1st day of arrival and 1/2 day on my last day before departing in the evening. I would like to make full use of my 1/2 day of each day to visit some famous attractions nearby. I have figured to go Chatelet, Eiffel tower, Champ de Mars, and Ecole Militaire so far. Most will be done by metro. I have heard of Louvre and Arc de Triomphe. How do i get there? Is there any entrance fee to go to Lourve (if there is, how much?) Do i have time to go to other places by metro? If i do, which other places should i go and how? I am a bit of excited + nervous as i will be alone. Oh ya, i am from Singapore and can't speak French. I'm going to buy the unlocked iPhone in Singapore but am going to travel to US soon. I want to stick with 1 phone, so I'm planning swap out the SIM card so I can replace it with an American phone card, cash points card or something. The employment agency here in Singapore told us that our employer will get us an international visa. Is there such thing as that? Anyone can explain everything about an international visa?
