Question: Blogosphere Metrics
Have you seen any good sites/sources on blogosphere metrics? I want to understand them. 1. Imagine a human network cluster diagram -- eg see bottom of http://myadda.com2. Imagine that those who blog profusely have their nodes to be proportionately brighter.3. Imagine that those who seem to be opinion leaders (i.e. they seem to be the source of many emerging memes in their swarming space) have their dot to be proportionately larger. So how can we using http://www.technorati.com , http://www.blogpulse.com , http://www.furl.net and http://del.icio.us get the best sense of who is the "boss" for what and how it spreads.Parallel to tracking down where a virus started, how it is spreading, who are the main infectors, who are the main transporters, why (the metrics) did that virus spread at a higher d2y/dx2 (acceleration) compared to others etc.And how to use all of above. Maximum bang for minimum energy :-)Ideas?[1] Swarming space: eg ants swarming into a location; an area eg “Australian emerging domestic politics scoops or “futurology or “overall Malaysia that bloggers seem to be relying on more than anyone else. Initial quantitative method = number of inbound links. Also I don’t understand how trackbacks work and what their weighting is. Can anyone demonstrate that to me?I posted this on several groups. If any of you have the answers that'd be good, or else I'll post them when I get them.Bala Pillai bala@apic.netcheers../bala
